10, 2004 --#12: Open Ridge StitchThis
square is another hdc variation and I really liked how the texture came out:  You
are basically skipping ahead and then coming back to the missed stitch to put
an hdc in it. I could easily get into doing this one for a simple afghan or purse
and just go on with the texture! Open
Ridge Stitch (Multiple
of 2 + 1 ch) Row
1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across Row
2: (Right side) Ch 2, turn. Hdc in first sc. * skip next sc, hdc in next sc, hdc
in skipped sc, repeat from * across to last sc, hdc in last sc. Row
3: Ch 1, turn, sc in horizontal strand of each hdc across. 
Repeat
row 2 and 3 until desired length <<
