10, 2004 --Flattering Jacket patternOk,
now for something completely unrelated to afghan squares... Lion Brand's Flattering
Jacket pattern. I
tried it with the
Colonial Blue homespun and it was making me bonkers because the color, while
pretty, was too dark for me to pick out the stitches correctly. It kept turning
into a mess! So I changed to the Baroque
instead and it worked out much better.
I've
lost one stitch somewhere but at least that's just unravelling far back enough
to recover it and going on from there. It's not like with the blue where I couldn't
even complete row 2 correctly! I
love the texture -- I'm so big on textures.
It
doesn't hurt that it is in a favorite pattern -- sc-ch-sc acoss. I've done that
so many times for afghans and scarfs that even though I've never made an adult
jacket it still feels familiar. So now that I've figured out to stay away from
the dark homepsoun colors, I'm starting to like this yarn again. <<
