Half Double Crochet

Pattern:

Ch desired length.

Row 1:

Yarn over and insert hook in 3rd chain from hook.

Pull up a loop.

Yarn over again and draw through all three loops on hook.

Half double crochet (hdc) made.

Repeat in each chain across.

Row 2:

Chain 2, turn work hdc in 3rd loop from hook.

Repeat in each loop all the way across.

Repeat Row 2 until desired length.

Variations:

HDC through front loops only.

HDC through back loops only yields a more ribbed texture.
