Tabs off again

And again... This time we were in the room with her. I let her be in a fitted diaper with no cover. She was playing around and suddenly started fussing with the tabs. We kept putting them back. She kept peeling them off. We finally let her do what she felt like with them. She got one side off fast and struggled a bit with the other. Then she looked pleased to be naked... and promptly peed all over the rug.

Not sure if this is accidental pee or if she deliberately wants the diaper OFF before she pees... in which case... woot!

That's a major potty training milestone!

Now to get her to do that again... and better still... near the potty. We'll work on INSIDE the potty later...

Tabs off

Julia just turned 10 mos old.

Today I heard her yelling but I was preoccupied with armfuls of laundry. By the time I got all that sorted in the garage and came back she was quietly babbling to herself in the crib playing.

I turn the corner to see, and she'd apparantly taken care of the problem herself. When Julia accidentally goes in her diaper, she usually screams and cries until I fix it because she can't stand to be wet.

Since I was tardy, she undid the Aplix (velcro-like) fasteners and thrown the pee diaper out of the crib! This was the first time she got BOTH tabs off but it was very funny that she was so mad at the wet diaper she flung it away.

I def. can't keep her in just a diaper or diaper plus Aplix style cover -- pull on shorts are going to have to be a requirement every time.

Once she can undo shorts and a reliable walker I'm changing her to training pants that you pull down to get off. She's def. a pro at Aplix tabs now.
