15 mos.

I haven't updated in a while on Julia. She will be 15 mos this weekend. Things are fine. We've gotten into a little routine. She tells me she has to go, we go. She can actually say "poo" now, so she uses that or "ssssss!" as her verbal cue to go.

Sometimes have accidents when I can't hear her saying "poo" from the crib and she still requires verbal reminders sometimes. (Ex: Take the diaper off first. Now sit on the potty. )

If you give her the TP she will make and effort to wipe after pee. She's not real sure where the poo comes from so she wipes that as if for pee rather than in back where it actaulyl needs wiping so I lend her a hand there.

She knows the concept of washing hands at the tub, and drying off with a towel after potty though. No longer cries when I turn the tub water on because of the echo in the bathroom.

I can almost go out without bothering to put diapers in my pack. I still take them anyway, but most times we come back in the same dry diaper after being out all day. So it's more about my confidence than hers.

So-so on panty removal. Can't figure how to get it down past her butt yet. So we're still practicing with those at home.

Toilet Paper and Hand Washing

The other night Julia kept cueing to potty and didn't do anything til the third time when she pooped. Guess she knew it was coming.

Julia's also figured out toilet paper. We can hand her a bit and she'll attmept to blot and then throw it into the potty between her legs. Sometimes she forgets the order though and throws it away before blotting and then looks surprised that there is nothing to blot with.

I've started "washing" her hands at the tub since she can almost reach the faucet herself. At first she was afraid of the noise, but she got over it and now knows where to stand when I ask "Where do we wash your hands?" At the moment it's just a water rinse followed by the towel to dry off. I'll add the soap when she can be trusted not to eat it.

But I'm getting used to the same diaper all day long... it's not longer the rarity but the norm.
