Sonograms

Sonograms Part 1 | Sonograms Part 3

Everyone who was taking bets at the baby shower for weight? You all lost! Baby is approx. 7.5 lbs right now. (Margin of error is 10% in either direction.)

All her measures for organs, bones, circumferences and things are fine. She's just a big baby and is about 3 weeks ahead of her age. (Last time at Thanksgiving she was 2 weeks ahead of her age.)

She is head down with her back toward my left and her arms and legs to the right. I kind of already knew that from the way she kicks and punches -- it's been always on the right side. She was very active last night and this morning and continued to squiggle around during the ultrasound -- we saw her stick her tongue out, turn her head and bat her arms about. She's also practicing breathing.

I continue to be checked twice a week. We still have to talk to our OB to see if we need any more ultrasounds and if baby will have to be induced if she keeps growing at this rate. We're going to keep hoping that she decides to come early on her own, but if we need induction at 38 weeks rather than letting her go to 40 weeks, then we'll see.

We got to see hair for the first time today -- it's the white whispy stuff around her head:

She's cramped in there and her faced is mashed up against mom but you can make out a nose and a mouth:
