Doing what feels like some last minute readjusting.
The deadline
for telling our NF program director what event we are going to do is in October
-- just a week away. After consulting Adrith, I went ahead and e-mailed Anita
to tell her if at all possible I wanted to be on the team for the half-marathon
event. Which means I would be doing the same event as my Patient Hero's mom ...
I should call her up sometime soon and see how they are doing. Now to wait for
a confirm on all that.
Meanwhile I am thinking of switching schedules --
I'll have to work out the details of that later. Adrith may also switch from the
NF schedule to something else. So scrambling to get our bearings back again.

I'm glad it's getting cooler for Adrith. It's getting better here too, but not
ideal just yet. "Cooler" means 90's instead of 100's still! It's been raining
since yesterday afternoon with no end in sight. At first it was drizzle yesterday
but this morning it was thunder and lightening. If it let's up enough for me to
drive to gym, I'll do my walk there, but if it doesn't, then I am going to wallpaper.
Why is it any time I want to do something outdoors it rains?! Rain or no,
we went to Disney yesterday as planned. We took rain ponchos but no umbrella and
for a while there I was going to break down and buy baseball cap to at least keep
some of the rain off my glasses, but all it all it wasn't too bad. I love the
off-season -- much less crowded, no lines for the rides. Yay.
However, the
real mission was to take photos, so mostly we walked and we only rode Test Track,
Imagination, and Spaceship Earth at Epcot. The rest of the time we were tracing
the half marathon part of the route from the race course map and trying to take
a photo at every mile or so. We got some of the service roads from the monorail
but obviously we couldn't get it all. Enough to get an idea though.
Next month
we have to decide what event we are doing (full or half) and depending on that
I'll see if I have to go out to the parks again and take some more photos.
Wal-mart surprisingly started carrying a weight bench similar to the one we were
looking at Sports Authority for about $100 less. Now if it's just as sturdy we'll
go with that and use what we save on more weights. Karen wants Paul with a weight
bench before his next appointment on the 10th, but I don't think we can make that
happen. Maybe the next appointment over? At any rate, we have to get ready to
register for the 10K so he needs to start walking with me.
I REALLY wish it
would stop raining. I haven't been on my bike in ages!
