Week Three: Getting Support
This
training week was a mixed bag. We learned a lot about what we were doing right
and what we needed to work on.
Walking outside, for example, requires
a lot more than tying on one's shoes and hitting the road. Checking the weather
beforehand to figure out time of the day to walk is a MUST for summer training,
especially when you can't determine whether the clouds are dark because it's twilight
or because that's a BIG storm headed right in your direction!
"No
surprise why the gym and outside feels hotter than heck. IT IS! I do NOT look
forward to training this summer at ALL. Bleah." -- Cat/Astrophe
Remembering
to stretch before and after your walk is also important.. because the calf muscle
you forget to stretch before the walk will be cutting short your workout with
a bad cramp.
But evidently
we're doing something right, because our bodies are rising to the occasion and
letting us train for this marathon. Still going.. maybe less enthusiastically
than last week, but still going strong.
