Week 12: Back on the Books

The temperatures are frequently hitting the 100's, and staying hydrated is a major battle. The desire to run away and hide is there, but we start pulling out tricks to stay motivated.

While Cat/Astrophe combats the gym blues with cross training outdoors on her bike at night, Adrith fends off boredom by plotting miles she's logged working out against a map of the northeast and taking a "virtual trip."

"But even though last night was hard, I'm inspired again -- and that's fantastic. I haven't been inspired to keep things going in a long while.

I've decided to keep a record of my progress via highway routes and mileage, too.My next major intersection is Rtes 84 and 90, in Sturbridge, MA: That intersection is at 123.6 miles, or just under 32 more miles away. Once on 84, it's only another 4.5 miles to the Connecticut border, at Mashapaug. I can reach that by the end of July!

So that's the goal, folks. Connecticut by the end of July." ~Adrith

Highlights this week? Adrith breaks into 4.1 MPH for the first time and Cat/Astrophe notices she's reached target heart rate in training rather than having it bouncing all around out of range.

We're feeling a resurgence of energy. We're going to beat this weather. We're going to log those miles. One way or another we will train! We're 1/3 of they way there!
