In Preparation
During
our first week, we contemplated the schedule our lives would be regulated by for
the duration of our training program. We were trying to decide what marathon training
schedule to follow among several.
"I'm
supposed to do 20 miles in week one [according to one possible training program].That
breaks down to 4 miles, 5x a week. I can do that. The one where it gets to 40
miles (8 miles a day) a couple weeks later.. now that's something else!"

We
decided to do the marathon walking training program from active.com
in preparation for the actual NF Marathon Team training program in August. In
a happy coincidence, the two training programs fit nicely into the calendar, with
the active.com program ending on the same day that the NF Marathon Team program
began. We realized that our new venture would affect our sleeping and eating patterns;
we realized that we were going to experience some big changes in the coming months.
There was one day (night, rather) where each of us made a late night entry to
the training log. We spoke of how eager we were to start our training. Since we
started our training, with only one exception, there haven't been any more late-night
posts. Guess were sleeping much better these days!
