Training 6/1

  • Schedule: Walk or cross train
  • Actual: walk for 30 min at 3 mph
  • Calories burned: 200
  • Distance: 1.6

Most miserable workout I've had yet. AC at gym was shot, everything felt stuffy, and someone had just cleaned the ladies locker room so the bleachy smell started my eyes and nose going. On the bright side, I went and I got my SportBrain calibrated.

Training 5/30

  • Schedule: Walk or cross train
  • Actual: 35 min of course 5 on the EFX544
  • Distance:about 2 miles of climbing
  • Calories Burned: 400 calories

Went to Bally's this morning to try to escape today's 92 deg heat. No dice. Even that early it was still 86 deg. And it's all smokey because now that summer is here the state is on fire again. Sigh.

On the bright side, I took my mini radio mom gave me. So light! Barely bigger than the sportbrain. I listed to the classic rock station and someone out there likes me because the first thing I heard was Ice Cream Man. I hadn't heard that in a while. So I started thinking about ice cream, sorbet, popsicles, sex, slurpees, beaches, cool swimming water and more. Free Bird got me through the horrible part where the incline has gotten to the highest point and Jimi Hendrix brought me home.

Then I packed it in and got the heck out of there before the gym started smelling like many people's armpits!

Informal exercise -- flea marketting, bowling, etc. Sport Brain says we did 3 miles. Having trouble with my tracker -- it's not picking up all my steps.

Turns out one of the contact on my sportport where you stick the sportbrain to send data is broken. Now I have to see about getting it repaired. Informal exercise today? 1 mile.

Fundraising is stalled, I have to try to figure out who I can ask for more donations. I've tapped out my family for now.

Dietitian stuff is going ok, and I'm down 9.5 lbs in 10 weeks. While it averages out to almost 1 lb a week, in real life it hasn't happened quite so neatly. There was a whole month in there where nothing happened at all -- frustrating. Endoc. appt in a week or so for more tests. I've been kind of queasy lately and I don't knwo what that's all about.

Summer is here, and the temps are staying in the low 90's. It's the pits, I'm not happy, and I probably won't be happy again until fall brings better temps. This is going to be a gruesome summer for training.
