Training 7/3
- Schedule: rest
- Actual: walk at the mall
- Distance: 1 mile
- Speed: ?
- Calories Burned: about 100
- Temps: not
applicable -- AC!
No time to do a big table for the weights so that
has to hang on.
I was looking ahead at the Galloway marathon schedule I'd
been on before I took the unscheduled hiatus from training. This weekend I had
a 6 miler which wasn't so bad, but the 13 miler NEXT weekend was unrealistic.
I've since changed to the Karen Jeffries Half Marathon schedule. Today was a rest
day, but before my allergist appointment I decided to take a walk at the mall
since I had to be there for the bank anyhow.
The allergist appointment was
all about getting jabbed 25 more times with needles instead of prick things. Predictably,
I started to feel woozy and faint, so the nurse had me lay down and put a wet
paper towel on my head. I don't know how long I lay there before I started to
feel more normal. The result of the tests was that yes, I am STILL allergic to
dust, roaches, mold etc. Took another breathing test -- lung function still at
60-65%% ish. Dr. Patel is sending me for X-rays to make sure nothing is obstructing
my breathing passages. Gave me an inhaler and some other meds.
Thrills.

Training 7/4
- Schedule: 3 miles
- Actual:
walk at the mall
- Distance: 2.8 miles
- Speed: ?
- Calories Burned: about
300
- Temps: not applicable -- AC!
I wore my denim shorts with
pockets and the belt loop got in the way of my sportbrain registering all my steps.
I really need to either just wear fitness shorts when I want to use my sportbrain
or take a seam ripper to that one belt loop! Mine only logged half my steps even
though I walked right with Paul the whole time! So I'm going with his brain info.
It was a casual walk -- too many shoppers at the mall for the holiday sales
so we had to stop and dodge more than usual.. Happy 4th of July!

Training 7/2
- Schedule: 40 min cross train
- Actual: 40
min walk with Paul at midnight
- Distance: 2.05 miles of softball field lots
- Speed: 3.2 MPH
- Calories Burned: 222 cal.
- Temps: 78 deg with humidity
at 87% so it feels like 83 deg! Ugh!
Coaxed Paul into a late walk
so his appetite would perk up for a snack and so he'd sleep better than he did
last night. Exercise usually helps with that for him. We got our sportbrain graphs
chopped off like they usually do when we walk this late, but I smooshed them together
to get the right numbers. It felt like an armpit out there, but at least it was
night and not sunny. That would be even worse! Noticed the humidity made us both
slightly crabby and our speed was a lot slower than what I did last week inside
the nice ACed mall. Wore my new 878's. Need to order new sports bras.
Have
to sort out the weights notes and then I'll report on that... snack time!

training
7/3
Locale: gym
Distance: 1.6 miles (per Brain) 1.97 miles
Shoes:
Sauconys
Temp: too many damn commercials
That's the story of today's
walk. Too many commercials made me bail just 0.4 miles from having done 2 miles
today. Maybe I'll do a loop around the kitty tour to make up for it.. or maybe
not.
Don't worry .. I'm motivated to train.. just not motivated to put up
with the crap at the gym. Lesson learned - go nights when there are fewer commercials
in your program and the courteous, friendly, cute employee works. ;)

training 7/1
Locale: Kitty Tour, 7 laps
Distance: 3.5
miles (per Brain) 5.7 miles
Shoes: NB 853
Temp: 83°, humid
Today's
walk was real hard. The schedule said 3 miles, but Karey and I were going to shoot
for 5 to make up for last week's too-short walk.
It took forever - 1h15
mins for 3.5 miles, per the SportBrain. This also does not include the breaks
we took every lap to get more water, which we left inside to keep cool. There
was a breeze blowing, which made the conditions slightly more tolerable, but every
time the breeze died down or we walked between two buildings where the breeze
was blocked, the oppressive humidity was just enough to make me question my sanity.
Which
is why we stopped after 3.5 miles.
Never let me complain about winter again.
Right now, I'd do just about anything for a little bit of arctic blast.
