August 6, 2001 Today: schedule says to rest, but after
dinner I found myself antsy. So I changed into some bike shorts and my UNH t-shirt
and sneakers, and hit the road. I meant to just walk 20 minutes (a sort of dinner
shakedown cruise), but after two laps of the Kitty Tour I was so jazzed I kept
going. I ultimately did four laps of the KT, or two miles in distance. It was
an incredibly surreal experience. It was hotter outside than it was inside, but
not by much. As I'd walk past people's apartments and the sound from their air
conditioners would enter my stream of consciousness, I'd wonder what the heck
I was doing, on a rest day, having just eaten, taking a training walk. But then
it occurred to me that I was in this, not to become some sort of fitness diva,
but to better my ability and lower that finish time from this year's Disney. And
in that vein, I was more than happy to be outside walking, whether I was loony
or not. And this way, if I find myself needing to miss a training walk this
week for whatever reason, I've got an extra stored up. :) posted by Adrith 8:58 PM
August 5, 2001 Today: target 6 miles, actual somewhere
between 5.25 and 5.5 miles. On my feet for 2.5 hours, though. The mugginess really

Sat: sched. says to rest. Instead I went to Epcot with Paul
and we probably walked off the "missing" miles from Friday. It rained, but it
was a good day to do Disney stuff. Crowd was small, and the lines were non-existant.
