Week Thirteen: New Goals

Weather starts playing summer games in Florida and Cat finds a new option for keeping up with training and an additional training partner...

"We went out at midnight to wog and we spent about an hour out in the parking lot. If Paul sticks with this, I may have found a possible solution to the summer heat problem -- just go with Paul at night! I won't do it alone, but if he's with me I feel better about it. We warmed up together and then we split up to do our own things. We just waved at each other across the lots once in a while. Paul, the speed demon, nailed 9 MPH and 8 min miles on his jog bits on his SportBrain graphs. (!!!!) This is how he runs after a hiatus of almost ten years? Jeez!" ~Cat

While Cat's pleased with having company, the biggest thrill this week came when we both received the Official 2000 Results Book. We couldn't help but feel disappointed though...

" Am miffed: got the official results book today, and of course we're not in there. Not this year.. but definitely next." ~Adrith

We'd almost beat the clock, but not quite. Fortunately we had timed ourselves on our watches so even though it took us 20 min. to get to the start line from the last corral, if the clock had still been running our chip times would have shown we're positive we should have squeaked in! Goal for 2002 is to see our names in print in the book!
