  • What: shopping center walk
  • Duration: 20+ min

My feet are all puffy from all the walking. Oh, well. After my parents took me to my NST this morning we popped into a few stores since they needed to get things. I took treated them to lunch after that.

The NST was fine -- I passed it with no problems. I lost my plug yesterday so I'm hoping baby comes over the weekend. If not, u/s appt. Monday to go to.

  • What: shopping center walk
  • Duration: 15+ min

No formal walk, but walked around the shopping center, Kmart, Office Depot, and grocery store looking for my parents who said they'd meet us at Kmart but were actually walking around themselves. Why does Dad tell me to meet him in one spot and then go wandering around? He would be annoyed if I did that!

I was wanting to walk on the treadmill later tonight while watching a movie. A bit annoyed by this impromptu walk since I hadn't planned on it and I was wearing clogs rather than proper sneakers. So now my feet are complaining. Which reminds me... the next time I get pregnant I'm buying sneakers in a size up in 2nd trimester. Once the edema stuff hits even sneaks can make me bonkers. I haven't been tying my sneaks for ages and this close to delivery, I'm not sure if I want to bother getting another pair. I HAVE a new pair waiting in the closet for when these conk out -- but those are in my regular size.

While they were bringing us the utility table from the back of the Office Depot storage area, Paul went to price ink for the printers and Mom and Dad hung around with me at the register. Mom told me she thinks I'm lower than yesterday so I'll take another photo to compare when Paul gets up from his nap and can help me. Then my parents helped us get the table home in their van and took off. Paul's probably going to spend the rest of the night moving the furniture around.

I felt a bit weird when I got home -- hot and shaky. I'd gone too long without eating and a cereal snack fixed the shaky business and getting naked fixed the heat business. It keeps changing from hot to cold here so our house is alternating between stuffy and comfortable not just from day to night but from day to day. All next week it's going to be rainy but in the 70's. So hot again. Bah.

Lab results came in the mail from my endoc. I was glad to see that my thyroid is fine and meds do not need changing for that and that I scored a 5.7% on the last A1C. (6.8% or less = excellent glucose control).

Hurrah!

Have you seen? Registration for the 2005 races are OPEN! Beth just signed up this morning, she'll be celebrating her five-year anniversary of marathoning at Disney. :)

I needed a motivational kick in the complacency, and boy did I just get it..

Still sick... NST and OB appts. in the morning so I'll update on that when I get back.

[later]

On the baby front? Mom took me to my appointments today. Everything checked out fine but there's new developments.

At the NST, the nurse told me I was having contractions 3-6 minutes apart. While I knew I was having a lot of them, I didn't realize they were so close together. They'd been going on since last night so by the time I got to the afternoon I wasn't really paying much attention any more. Too wiped from no sleep, my head cold, and running around to appointments.

We were running a bit late to the OB appt. but they always make me wait too so it wasn't all that bad. Dr. K. took my cord blood donor forms, asked how I was feeling, and then told me I was still 50% effaced but 1 cm dilated now and she could feel the baby's head. So it could be a go any time from now til Monday! Hooray!

She told me to make an appt. right after the ultrasound Monday so someone in their group can evaluate the resulting measures and make a decision on the induction thing or to let me go another 2 weeks. She herself won't be there til afternoon so I got a midwife appt. Then I called Paul from the doc's office to let him know what's new.

So tomorrow? Cleaning, walking, and making more appointments. And fervent hopes baby decides to appear on her own.

On the Disney front... Mojodiva is considering doing the half with her family. And Beth, let me know if you want to be added to the blog now that you've also signed up. :)
