If all goes well, I think I'm starting slow formal walks on Sunday. Right now my incision site is doing mostly ok. It'd be better if it stopped itching but I can live with it. Healing skin always seems to be itching.
Baby has her first pediatric appointment today. Tomorow is her 3rd week birthday. Which means I'm 3 weeks from my postpartum appt. Whee!
Endoc. appt. right around the corner.

I was looking at Cat's link for
The Intermediate Walker's 4 Month Half Marathon Schedule and I believe that is the plan I will use in October. May modify it a bit, of course, but it seems perfectly suited for me!

Did my walk very late- started after 11pm,but my headache had finally gone away and I was really feeling the need to move til I broke a good sweat. And I sure did. I'm drenched now and will be off to take a bath after posting my day's workout. Due to the soreness in my legs during the last walk, I did a longer walk at 2.5mph then normal. And it seemed to work just fine. No ache or soreness at all (and I was mindful to not walk longer than my regular stride)
2.25 miles, treadmill @ 3% incline. Top speed 3.0mph. 51:16 minutes.Calories burned: 206 with 64.6 fat calories burned.

The problem of maternity workout clothes in plus sizes. As if maternity alone or plus size alone isn't a drag -- but plus maternity? Hahahaha.
Karen sent me a
Title 9 Sports gift certificate and I'm bummed out that I can't yet use it. It was really a nice gesture on her part though. I'm down to an 18 in tops postpartum, but the largest they typically run is 16. In bottoms it is hard to tell yet what I'm at. Every once in a while they do a plus size run but there isn't one now. I'll just have to look forward to it.
I just tried on a pair of black fitness shorts I got at SuperTarget in a 3x. They are too big. They feel a bit weird all loose but I'm still leery of things touching my incision site so better too loose than too tight. The next time I go I'll probably get another just to have on hand even though I dislike cotton fitness shorts and really much prefer wicking ones. Two pairs ought to get me to where I can wear my old stuff. Mom will take them in as needed. Because I'm not getting into my old workout bottoms any time soon. Apart from my incision still being sensitive and kind of itchy, my belly shape is all weird now.
Some of my larger tops I can do again, but the crop tops are too small still with my megaboobs from nursing. I'll have to go digging around for Paul's shirts. I'm not planning on hard workouts over the next month so regular bras will work for now but I'll have to keep an eye out for undies anyway. I'm going to have problems findng a nursing/maternity sports bra -- I just know it!
At least my socks and sneaks seem to still fit ok.
Mainly I want to start working on fitting in some treadmill time around Julia's nursing schedule. Then once I get the postpartum check I'll worry about ramping up to half marathon training and adding weights and all that.
For the curious... my belly at 37 weeks. (I was induced at 38 weeks.)

My belly 16 days after the birth:

It's weird how everything sags to the bottom. I'll spare you a view of the incision though. Ha.

I have exercised 8 days in a row now, but tonight I ran into a little bit of a pickle. I was into the 3/4 of a mile when suddenly the front of my lower legs, along the bone, started hurting. It hurt so much I finished my workout at just 1 mile (22 minutes). I was really surprised because my legs have felt fine all day. Perhaps I need to warm up more before getting to 3.0mph? I did nothing differant today than I normally do when I do my walks. The only differance is that yesterday I walked outside on several small hills for 2 miles.
Weird.
I think tomorrow I will just do my :08min workouts.

- What: Walk at SuperTarget
- Duration: 1 hour
Went out for steak for Valentine's and left Julia with my parents. Then we did SuperTarget for house stuff before going back to visit and take Julia home. Walked around for about an hour and then I had to tell Paul we had to leave because I REALLY needed to take a Motrin.
It's not working out any better than regular Tylenol but it helps. These first few days without Darvocet, the pain pill I was given right out of hospital, have been rough!
