So the week's results? I'm happy I got all my minutes done, but I'm not happy about so many days off. I want to be walking 6 times a week -- that's part of the goal. It's not just about the cumulative minutes because later on when the workouts get longer and longer for the half marathon I won't be able to catch up on minutes like I can with these easy, short walks. So something to work on next week.

Even so, I'm pretty proud of me for getting all the minutes done despite tackling the house and the baby -- every day I add more things back to my routine and I'm still hanging in there so normality is coming back.

Paul and Julia are taking a nap. Meanwhile I'm sitting here thinking and waiting for them to get up. We've got plans for a walk in the park this afternoon and I'm really looking forward to it. One, I like taking walks with Paul -- we have the best conversations! Two, it's Julia's first stroller walk and we're going to take pictures. Three, it's my walk for the day and it is NOT on the treadmill! Hooray! Four, Paul's going to wear his sportbrain so I can compare mine to his and see if mine is just totally stupid or if it's me who's got the whole calibrate-this-darn-thing mess wonky.

It's not official til the end of the day when I post my week's summary, but I lost 0.5 lbs this week. I'm glad. I'm still a bit worried over how weight loss is going to go long haul, but it's encouraging to see a loss, however modest.

Julia on the other hand, has gained at least 0.5 lbs since her doc. appt two weeks ago. She's also up to 23 inches long from the 20 3/4" inches she was when born. Way to grow! :)

I spend a lot of time cuddling with Julia when we nurse and she's one buff baby. I marvel over her firm, little muscles when I stroke and massage her body while she eats. She's got that baby roundness to her but when she flexes and kicks or grabs things you see how cut her quads, arms and abs are. A baby 2-pack is so cute. It's too bad I can't get her to flex on demand or else I'd take a photo and post it. I remember I used to love seeing the tight little delts on my nieces. Now I love seeing them on my kid. I want to encourage her to be fit as she grows up. She's starting out so perfectly healthy... I don't want her to lose that.

At the same time I wonder what she's inherited from us healthwise. I really hope she doesn't have PCOS and Paul's family's disposition for diabetes. I'm struggling to avoid Type II from the PCOS/IR end and he's doing the same from the high blood sugar end. If she ends up with both those things it would really suck for her. Everything else from crooked teeth to allergies we can cope with more easily.

We had a nice walk... the first bit worried me because I thought it might be too much sun for the baby but the clouds came back and it was fine. There was a very pleasant breeze so even though it was 86 deg today it wasn't too horrible. It will be even nicer once all the park trees are grown and can give more shade along the paths. We did half the walk and then sat under a tree to take some pictures. I keep trying to get decent film photos so I can send them with her birth announcements and nothing ever comes out! Grrr! But we took a few digital photos as well.

Julia just slept through the entire thing. When she's out, she's out!

After a nice chat we picked up again anad finished the rest of it. Hopefully as summer wears on and we have more daylight we can do this during the week when Paul gets home from work as well. He needs the exercise as much as I do.

Paul's sportbrain only tracked half the way because he was wearing it wrong but mine is definitely way off kilter when compared with his. It's doubling all the values. Ha! I knew it was wonky!

Drove to mom's to spend the day Wed. and it wore me out more than I expected.

I'm planning on walking tonight if all goes well.

I've been having mystery cramps over the last few days. Like in the uterine/crotch area but never in the same spot. Last night I had a really sharp one that made me go, "Ow!" out loud. So far nothing major today so we'll see. My postpartum appt is in a bit over a week so I plan on mentioning this to my OB. I'm sure it's nothing serious but it still amazes me how long it takes to heal -- my scar is still itching!

Took some Tylenol for cramps and did an easy walk while watching an X-Files rerun. Now I'm also having some slight nipple or breastpain -- I can't yet tell which.

I noticed it this afternoon so I took off my bra and breast pads and just let them hang free until I put on the sports bra for a walk. I really hope it's not the start of a cracked nipple or a clogged duct. That would suck. Just to make sure and to have a supply for mom when she babysits I pumped after walking.

Would exercise make breastmilk taste different? It never occured to me to wonder until now.

Feel decent, albeit super ready to hit the sack.

I almost didn't walk last night since I was wiped out. But I did it anyway and just tried to do a slow, steady walk so I could calibrate. Too varied for calibrating again but I'm glad I got the walk out of my hair. Sooner or later I'll get a walk done that's flat.

But I'm happy. I dealt with baby, got bills done, did some housework, and logged my whole day eating on FitDayPC... I'm surprised I got so much done.

Going to try the same again today only I'm also going to my parents' house -- let's see how I fare driving. Driving on Sat. wiped me out.

Well, Cat has started her first week when my hubby got home and I substituted sex for exercise. :D

I'll be back to it this week. Feeling a bit blue today, so have no plans to do anything. May feel up to it later, maybe if I hear from my hubby today. Definately try to do something tomorrow.

My first week back at it. Even with not getting my walks on the day I wanted to get them, my frustration at calibrating my sportbrain, and working around a nursing baby, I'm pretty happy with my overall effort. 88%! Go me. :)

Took Saturday off. Instead of walking that evening, I drove myself to the grocery store for the first time and it totally wiped me out. It amazes me how much abs are used in driving. My stomach on the right sid eof my C-sect scar was really aching. After I came home, unloaded food and sacked out.

Paul was wiped too because it was his first time home alone with the baby and she pitched a hissy as soon as I left. He said it was like she knew I'd left the house.

This week's workout goals are about the same. I'm also trying to get back up to par with running the house and dealing with chores so we'll see how I fare.
