  • What: casual mall walking

Does stroller walking count if it's at Old Time Pottery wandering around looking for my parents and trying to avoid a) crazed sale shoppers and b) items protruding from the aisles? Because that's where I went this afternoon lookign all over the place for fish because my mom wanted them. Never found the fish but I crusied every single aisle in the warehouse non-stop!

Stupid me -- knocked the Ziploc tubbie of extra hamburger patties I made last night so I wouldn't have to cook tonight and they exploded on the floor. Dammit.

I vote for crap food for dinner. Sigh.

I asked Dad if he was walking like his doc. wanted him to post heart attack and he said no so I asked him if he wanted to stroller walk with me and baby a few times a week now that I'm cleared for it by the OB. We can take turns -- One day he can drive over and wlak at my park and another day I'll go over there and walk in his neighborhood. I worry about him not taking better care of himself and getting to hang with Julia may be enough of an incentive.

So the OB appointment for my 6 weeks postpartum check-up. In a nutshell, I'm mostly fine:

  • I still need to keep up my iron supplements because that was still low
  • The incision has healed great.
  • Nerves in my stomach area are reknitting and Dr. K. said that also can cause the "itching" sensation.
  • No strange lumps or clogged ducts in my breasts.
  • Cervix is closed.
  • Uterus is still a bit enlarged but overall good. It should keep shrinking down over time.
  • Remember to get a diabetes screening at the endoc.
  • Remember to schedule PAP for late June/early July.
  • Consider the mini-pill (progesterone only) if I get sick of condoms for BC.
  • I'm cleared for other exercise, but just use sense and not take on too much at once.

While examining my breasts she accidentally made the left one squirt breastmilk. She apologized and then told me that she heard another doc. mention that a patient who had been really into herbal supplements turned up at the clinic inquiring why her breastmilk had turned green. Some kind of seaweed supplement was responsible. She wondered out loud what that would taste like and then reminded me to call if my breastmilk turned funky colors or if I started getting weird discharge.

I like Dr. K. and I wished her good luck with her own pregnancy. Even as I'll be sad not to see her again, I am thrilled that this was my last visit to this office. I hate the receptionist and I hate how crowded it always is and how long they make you wait.

I'm taking my PAP to my family practice like I usually do and if all goes well we'll start out and finish our 2nd pregnancy with Dr. G. and not have to go back to the high-risk group.
