  • What: Stroller walk w/ Mom, Dad, Karen, and Julia
  • Distance: 1.25 miles

Quick walk this evening in the park en famille.

I'd spent the day with my family and it was mostly ok.

Kind of lost my patience once with Dad who was pestering me about Julia's sleep and her teeth and he told me that I'm doing a very good job, it just that it has been almost 29 years since I was a baby so he's not up on baby development. I kind of felt bad about snapping at him then. It's just that it's been a very rough week with her and I probably took it wrong at first.

But oh, how I loved seeing him with Julia in the kiddie playground. Dad LOVES to show her things, and fights Mom over baby time now that she's older and no so newborn. They pretended to "slide" down a slide and "swing" in a baby swing. But the best part was watching him standing in front of the swings with her in his arms.

Dad was pushing both baby swings with nobody in them so Julia could see them go up and down and for some crazy reason, this totally cracked her up! You could hear her peals of baby laughter ringing across the playground. Squealing and carrying on -- the first time I heard her laugh that long and that loud. Dad also let her "kick" the swings when they swung past her and she loved that as well.

I got teary watching them. The glee in her face and the pride in his were lovely. It was def. the highlight of my day, and probably my week.

Moments like that make getting through the crazy days worthwhile.
