Julia has her first cold. Snotty and congestion and pretty pissed off about it. Being a demon baby today... VERY grumpy.
I got tired of trying to get the baby to sleep and just plonked her in the walker and set it by the treadmill and cranked out an easy walk. Not totally as relaxing as I'd hoped since I had to keep an eye on her but she seemed ok watching
Cleen Sweep with me or playing with the toy tray on the walker. I'd hiked it up as high as possible so her feet could not touch ground. No need to have her skittering out of my sight.
Enell bras are a godsend for nursing mothers. I cannot stress that enough. I have to order another one. I took it off and I'm full of milk but it was soooo comfy wearing it I didn't even realize.

Cross-training on the schedule. No chance at the pool in this weather. Most likely water aerobics class tonight will be canceled.
So did a yoga mini-workout instead while watching Julia play. Her room has padded floor space so I didn't bother getting out my yoga mat. Actually, her floor is much thicker so it was nicer there. I had to quit when she kept coming over to look at my book. She's already been tearing her story books when Paul reads to her so I cut it short and rescued my book from her clutches.

Have a lot to do post-hurricane. Blah.
I've got my half marathon training schedule in place though, and I'm going to start knocking off days. No more swim classes for Julia so that frees up my mornings.
Got my 2 miles in this morning while Julia napped but got interrupted by my mom on the phone telling me about the water seeping into her house. So this workout, while nice, was useless for calibrating. Took it at an easy pace, kept the mileage low. Have to find all the rest of my workout clothes -- today was in dirty socks. Ick. Laundry time!
Adrith is back in training for Disney. Go check her out too. :)

For the curious, there are 124 days until half-marathon. That's 17 weeks and 5 days. Which means it's high time to get in gear training wise.
It's both a good and a bad month for me to start again.
The bad? We're still in hurricane season and so far, two hurricanes through here and another on the way this weekend. We normally don't get hit with much more than heavy rain, but this season it's caused major damage in town and I've got minor damage to deal with at my home. We're lucky we haven't had hurt friends and family or major damage to anyone we know, but the the thought of Hurricane Ivan creeping up on us this weekend does not bode well.
The good? It's my birthday month and that always cheers me up. I turn 29! Julia will turn 8 mos old at about the same time and as she gets older and can do more, I get back a tiny bit of freedom for myself and the childcare problem lessens. It's easier to get out to do things if her tolerance block increases.
