Exercise:
  • What: walking
  • Time: 33 minutes
  • Distance: 1.6 miles
I filled in my exercise calendar until the end of April. For the first 3 weeks, I will walk 30 minutes (plus a short stretching session) 3 days a week, walk 45 minutes (plus stretching) 1 day a week, and do a longer stretching session the 2 days a week I don't walk. On 6 days, I will do the 15 minute toning video and I will take one day completely off. Of course, as a woman, I retain the perogative to change my mind, but that is the current plan. After 3 weeks, I will go to 2-30 mintue and 2-45 minute walking sessions a week and try that for a few weeks. The way I divided it up:
Monday - Stretch and Tone
Tuesday - 30 minute walk and tone
Wednesday - stretch and tone
Thursday - 30 minute walk and tone
Friday - rest
Saturday - 30 minute walk and tone
Sunday - 45 minute walk and tone

I completed my first walk today. It was a late day for us, we didn't get home until after 5, but I suggested we immediately put on our walking shoes and enjoy the nice weather. We did and it took us 33 mintues to make it around the 1.6 mile loop. Our two new videos came too, we tried the stretching video tonight. It has a 12 minute "daily stretch" routine, along with longer stretching routines that pinpoint other areas. We will stick to the 12 minute routine on exercise days and try out the longer routines on off days. I hope we can just find the stretches we like and that work for us and not use the video at all eventually.

Off to take a hot shower. :)
