I want to update daily, but I feel silly updating to say "everything is good, nothing has changed". But, regardless, all is good! I went out to lunch with ladies from work yesterday and we hit a thai place. It was my first thai food out in many months, I can't even remember the last time. I wanted to avoid the pad thai since I knew that the noodles packed a caloric punch, so I ordered the vegetable green curry. First of all, I should say that I LOVE spicy food, esp. thai spicy. But yesterday this curry was so spicy it made me sick and I am still feeling it. Maybe it was because I haven't had hot thai food in a long time, but man I feel like a wimp! I did manage to reduce calories pretty well, I ate only 1/2 cup of rice and spooned the curry onto the rice, leaving most of the liquid in the dish.
Speaking of spicy foods, I am thinking of trying out
The Lowfat Indian Vegetarian Cookbook. We love indian food but who are we kidding, it isn't exactly health food and I have been hesitant to do indian since starting WW for two reasons. They usually have a buffet (scary!) and I have no idea what is in the dishes. I know most dishes use full fat yogurt and clarified butter, enough to keep me away, wish is a shame because indian is definitely one cuisine that specializes in vegetarian cooking. Maybe this cookbook will have some helpful hints for yummy healthy dishes.
