Every year in January, Walt Disney World holds a half-marathon and a full marathon in Orlando, Florida. Disney itself offers information expos, resort packages and an on-line registry for individual, non-charity participants from Disney's Wide World of Sports website.

It's also a popular destination for charities who organize teams like NF. (Charity Cat and Adrith raced for in 2000 and 2001).

The charities provide their own registries and extra support for the participants in exchange for their fundraising efforts. So if you are interested in racing as part of a charity group you will have to contact that charity and they will register you.

What sets these races apart from "ordinary" marathons is unique is the Disney flair!

The race course winds through Disney property:

Participants start the race with celebratory firework fanfare, then work their way around Epcot Center and onwards to the Magic Kingdom. Along the way, they are cheered on by fans, Disney characters, performers, musicians, etc. If they complete the race within the allotted time frame, every participant is awarded with Disney medals.
